Chapter 6

Wickedness of man

6:1 And it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
6:2 That the sons of the Eloheem saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and took them wives of all which they chose.
6:3 And Yehovah said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, in their erring he is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of the Eloheem came into the daughters of men, and bare children to them, they were heros which existed from ancient time, men of renown.
6:5 And Yehovah saw that evilness of man was great in the earth, and that the whole thought, of his heart was only evil all day long.
6:6 And Yehovah repented that he had made man on the earth, and he was grieved to his heart.
6:7 And Yehovah said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repent me that I have made them.
6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of Yehovah.

Generations of Noah

6:9 These are the generations of Noah; Noah was a righteous man (Tzadeech to do what is right) and had been perfected before his family, and Noah walked with the Eloheem.
6:10 Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth.
6:11 The earth also was corrupt before the Eloheem, and the earth was filled with violence.
6:12 And Eloheem looked upon the earth, and, for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
6:13 And Eloheem said to Noah the end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold I will destroy them along with the earth.

Noah instructed to build the ark

6:14 Make you an ark of cypress timbers (gopher wood) rooms shall you make in the ark, and you shall cover it with asphalt inside and out.
6:15 And this in the fashion which you shall make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breath of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
6:16 A window shall you make to the ark, and in a cubit shall you finish it above; and the door of the ark shall you set in the side of it; with lower, second and third stories shall you make it.
6:17 And behold , I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, which is the breath of life, from under the sky; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
6:18 But with you will I establish my covenant; and you shall come into the ark, you, and your sons, and your wife and your son's wives with you.
6:19 And every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.
6:20 Of fowls after their kind, and cattle after there kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come to you, to keep them alive.
6:21 And take you to you of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to you: and it shall be for food for you, and for them.
6:22 And Noah did so according to all that Eloheem commanded him, so did he.
