was mourning three full weeks.
10:3 I ate no food for delight, nor meat nor wine into my mouth, I didn’t anoint myself at all till the end of three whole weeks.
10:4 And in the twenty fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Tigris;
10:5 then I lifted up my eyes, and looked, and saw a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz (desire of fine gold):
10:6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in color to polished bronze, and the voice of his words like the roar of a multitude.
10:7 And I Danielדניאל

alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me didn’t see the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they ran to hide themselves.
10:8 So I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my glory was turned within me to corruption, and I retained no strength.
10:9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
10:10 And, see, a hand touched me, which shook me on my knees and on the palms of my hands.
10:11 And he said to me, O Danielדניאל

, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand up: For I’m
now to sent you. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling.

, your words were heard, and I have come because your words.
10:13 But the ruler of the kingdom of Persia (Iran) withstood me twenty one days: but, lo, Michael, one of the first rulers, came to help me; and I stayed there with the kings of Persia (Iran).
10:14 Now I have come to make you understand what shall happen to your people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for [many] days.
10:15 And when he had spoken such words to me, I put my face toward the ground, and I became speechless.
10:16 And, see, one like in the form of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said to him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows have come over me, and I instantly have no strength.
10:17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, instantly there
remains no strength in me, or is there [any] breath left in me.
10:18 Then there came again
one in the form of a man and touched, and he made me strong,
10:19 And said, O greatly beloved
man, don’t fear: peaceשָׁלוֹם

to you, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken to me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for you have made me strong.
10:20 Then said he, Do you know why I come to you? and now will I return to fight with the ruler of Persia (Iran): and when I am gone out, look, the ruler of Greece shall come.
10:21 But I will tell you that what is written in the in truthful writing: and there is no one that holds (strengthens himself) with me in these things, except Michael your ruler.
