Jeremiah Chapter 6

Judah’s enemies encourage themselves


6:1 O y’all children of Benjaminבִּנְיָמִי

6:3 The shepherds with their flocks shall come to her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed everyone in his place.
6:4 Y’all prepare war against her; get up, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! because the day goes away, because the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
6:5 Get up, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.

6:7 Like a fountain throws out her waters, so she throws out her wickedness: violence and spoil is heard in her; before me continually is grief and wounds.

6:10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? see, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can’t hear: see, the word of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

The people are called to mourn


6:26 O daughter of my people, dress in sackcloth, and wallow yourself in ashes: make you mourning, like for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come on us.
6:27 I have set you for a tower and a fortress among my people, that you may know and try their wayדַּרְכָּם
