Micah Chapter 2

God’s judgements against oppression

2:1 Woe to those who plain wickedness, and scheme evil on their beds! In the morning light, they practice it, because there is power in their hand.
2:2 And they covet fields, and seize [them] by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they defraud a man and his household, even a man and his heritage.
2:3 So says YAHWEH יְהֹוָה
Hebrew Yəhōwā, one vocalization of the Tetragrammaton יהוה‎ (YHWH), the proper name of the God of Israel in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. ; See, I [am] planning an evil against this family, from which ya’ll won’t remove your necks; y’all won’t walk erect: because this will be a
bad time.
2:4 On that day he will recite a parable about you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly plundered: He has exchanged the share of my people. How has He removed it from me! turning away He has divided our fields.
2:5 So there won’t be for you one throwing [the surveyor’s] line by lot in the congregation of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

.
2:6 Don’t ya’ll prophesy, they prophesy, they won’t prophesy to these, that they won’t take shame.

2:7 O house of Jacob should it be said, has YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

become short spirited? Are these His deeds? Don’t My words do good to him that walks uprightly?
2:8 Yesterday My people rose up like an enemy [to their friends] for the sake garment a mantle, you would strip them, [making] innocent passersby like men returning from war.
2:9 The wives of My people have ya’ll thrown out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ya’ll removed My glory forever.
2:10 Y’all get up, and leave; because this isn’t your rest: because it is defiled, it will destroy you absolutely.
2:11 If a man walks around, misleading with wind and lies, [saying], I will prophesy to you for wine and or strong drink; he would be an [approved] prophet of this people!

Promise of Jacob’s restoration

2:12 I will surely gather
all of you, O Jacob, I will surely assemble the remnant of Israel; I will put them together like the sheep in a fold, like a herd in the middle of the pasture: they will make noise because of the men.
2:13 The one who breaks out and pass through: they will go out through the gates: and their king will pass in front of them, and YAHWEH יְהֹוָה
