God’s controversy with his people for their sins


6:1 Listen now to what YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

6:2
Listen, y’all mountains to the grievance of  YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

has a quarrel with His people, and He will reason with Israel.
6:3 O My people, what have I done to y’all? and how have I made y’all tired? Testify against me.
6:4 Because I brought y’all up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed y’all out of the house of slaves; and I sent y’all Mosesמשה

6:5 O my people,
now remember what Balak king of Moab planned, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal; that ya’ll may recognize the righteous acts of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

6:6 With what shall I approach YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

6:7 Shall YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Will I give my firstborn [to atone for] my transgression, the fruit of my belly [for] the sin of my soul?
6:8
He has declared to y’all, O man,  what [is] good; and what [does] YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

require of y’all, but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
6:9 The voice of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

‘s calls to the city, and the man [of] wisdom fears Your Name: hear ya’ll the rod [of punishment], and to the One Who has appointed it.
6:10 Are there yet stories of wickedness in the house of the wicked one, or a leanness of measure?
6:11 Will I be judged righteous with wicked scales, and with the bag of deceitful weights?
6:12 For the rich men are full of thievery, and the inhabitants of it have spoken falsehood, and their tongues speak a lies.
6:13 So also will I make [y’all] sick in strike y’all, in making y’all desolate because of your sins.
6:14 You will eat, but not be satisfied; and your hunger [will] be in the middle of y’all; and you will stoop over because of your entrails; you will conceive but not deliver, those you do deliver will I give up to the sword.
6:15 You will sow, but not reap; you will tread the olives, but not anoint y’all with oil; and new wine, but not drink wine.
6:16 Because the statutes of Omri and all the deeds of the house of Ahab, and ya’ll follow their counsels; so that I should make y’all to [be an] astonishment,its inhabitants [to be a cause for] whistling: So ya’ll will bear the shame of My people.
