The Song of Solomon Chapter 2

The Bride’s Admiration

2:1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
2:2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
2:3 Like the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
2:5 Stay me with flagons(/ˈflæɡən/) is a large leather, metal, glass, plastic or ceramic vessel, used for drink. A flagon is typically of about 2 imperial pints (1.1 L) in volume, and it has either a handle (when strictly it is a jug), or (more usually) one or two rings at the neck. Sometimes the neck has a large flange at the top rather than rings. The neck itself may or may not be formed into one, two or three spouts. The name comes from the same origin as the word “flask”., comfort me with apples: because I am sick from love.
2:6 His left hand is under my head, and his right hand does embrace me.
2:7 I charge you, O ya’ll daughters of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלַם
Transliteration: yᵊrûšālam – Pronunciation: yer-oo-shaw-lah’-im – proper locative noun meaning “teaching of peace” or possession of peace – also called the city of David and Zion – the chief city of Palestine and capital of the united kingdom and the nation of Judah after the split For more info click here
, by the gazelle, and by the hinds of the field, that ya’ll don’t stir up, or awake my love, till he please.
2:8 The voice of my beloved! see, he comes leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.
2:9 My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag: see, he stands behind our wall, he looks out at the windows, showing himself through the lattice.
2:10 My beloved spoke, and said to me, Get up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
2:11 For, look, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
2:12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds has come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;
2:13 The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Get up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
2:14 O my dove, that are in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me
see your appearance, let me hear your voice; because sweet is your voice, and your appearance is beautiful.
2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
2:16 My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feeds among the lilies.
2:17 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be you like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountains of Bether.
