Baruch writes Jeremiah’s prophecy

36:1 And it so happened in the fourth year of Jehoiakimיְהוֹיָקִים

36:14 So all the princes sent Jehudi (meaning Jew) the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah (meaning repaid by YAHWEH), the son of Cushi (meaning their blackness), to Baruch, saying, Take in your hand the scrollהַמְּגִלָּה

36:15 And they said to him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.
36:16 Now it so happened, when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and other, and said to Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.
36:17 And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How did you write all these words at his mouth?
36:18 Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words to me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.

Baruch and Jeremiah hide themselves

36:19 Then said the princes to Baruch, Go, you hide, you and Jeremiahיִרְמְיָהוּ

Jehoiakim burns the scroll

36:20 And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the scrollהַמְּגִלָּה

36:22 Now the king sat in the winter house in the ninth month: and there was a fire on the hearth burning in front of him.
36:23 And it so happened, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and threw it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the scrollהַמְּגִלָּה

36:24 Yet they were not afraid, or tore their garments, or the king, or any of his servants that heard all these words.
