Calamities of Judah

8:1 At that time, says YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

8:3 And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places where I have driven them, says YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

turned back by a perpetual turning away? They cling to deceit, they refuse to return.
8:6 I listened and heard, but they spoke nothing right: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? Everyone runs off in his own direction, like the horse rushes into the battle.
8:7 Yes, the stork in the heavensבַשָּׁמַיִם

8:8 How can y’all say, We are wise, and the Torahוְתוֹרַת

8:9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: see, they have rejected the word of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

8:10 So will I give their wives to others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: because everyone from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even to the priestכֹּהֵן

8:14 Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defensed cities, and let us be silent there: because YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

A desperate state


8:18 When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me.
8:19 Look the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that live in a far country: Isn’t YAHWEH יְהֹוָה
