1:1 The prophecy regarding Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.

The majesty of God in goodness to his people


1:2 EL אֵל

1:6 Who can stand before His fury? and who can rise in the heat of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are shattered because of him.

God’s Severity against enemies


1:8 But with a sweeping flood, He will put an utter end to its place, and darkness will pursue His enemies.

1:15 Look upon the mountains the feet of of the herald that proclaims peace, that publishes peace! O Judah, keep your vows: for the lawless one will no more pass by y’all; he is completely cut off.
