Joel Chapter 3

God’s Judgments


3:1 For, see, in those days, and in that time, [when] I shall bring again the exiles of Judah and Jerusalem,
3:2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָט‎

, and will judge with them there, for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided My land.
3:3 And they have cast lots for My people; and have given a boy for a harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
3:4 Yes, and what have y’all to do with Me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the borders of Palestine? will y’all restoring a repayment [to] Me? and if y’all [are] repaying Me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompense on your own head;
3:5 Because y’all have taken My silver and My gold, and have carried to your temples my good treasures:
3:6 The sons also of Judah and the sons of Jerusalem have y’all sold to the Greeks, that y’all might remove them far from their border.
3:7 Look, I will raise them out of the place where y’all have sold them, and will return your reward on your own head:
3:8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation far off: for YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

3:9 Y’all proclaim this among the nations; Sanctify a war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, I [am] strong.
3:11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all y’all nations, and gather yourselves together all round: , O YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

3:12 Let the nations be awakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָט‎

: Because there will I sit to judge all the nations all around.
3:13 Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; for the press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

3:15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their light.
3:16 YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

  roars from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall quake. But YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

3:17 So shall y’all know that I [am] YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

3:18 And it shall happen in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth from the house of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

3:19 Egypt shall be desolate, and Edomאֱדוֹם
was an ancient kingdom in Transjordan, located between Moab to the northeast, the Arabah to the west, and the Arabian Desert to the south and east. Most of its former territory is now divided between present-day southern Israel and Jordan. Edom appears in written sources relating to the late Bronze Age and to the Iron Age in the Levant.
shall be a desolate wilderness, from violence against the sons of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
3:20 But Judah shall live forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
3:21 For I will cleanse their blood [which] I didn’t cleansed: for YAHWEH יְהֹוָה
