Esther Chapter 7

Esther sues for her people


7:1 So the king and Hamanוְהָמָן
Transliteration; vᵊhāmān – Haman = “magnificent” chief minister of Ahasuerus, enemy of Mordecai and the Jews, who plotted to kill the Jews but, being foiled by Esther, was hanged, with his family, on the gallows he had made for Mordecai For more info click here

7:2 And the king said again to Estherאֶסְתֵּר

? and it shall be given to you: and what [is] your request?  It shall be done, even to the half of the kingdom.
7:3 Then Estherאֶסְתֵּר

the queen answered and said, If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:
7:4 For we are sold, my people
and I, for destruction, for murder, and to perish. But if we had been sold for male slaves and slavegirls, I would have kept silent, though the enemy couldn’t make up for the king’s loss.

7:5 Then king Ahasuerus answered and said to Estherאֶסְתֵּר

the queen, Who [is] he, this one? And where [is] this one, who filled [with pride] in his heart to do so?
7:6 And Estherאֶסְתֵּר

7:7 And the king rising from the banquet of wine in his wrath [went] into the palace garden: Hamanהָמָן

7:8 Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Hamanוְהָמָן
