Isaiah Chapter 60

A Light for the Nations


60:1 Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

60:2 Because the darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the people: but YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

60:3 And the nationsגּוֹיִם

60:4 Lift up your eyes look around, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to you: your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
60:5 Then you shall see, and flow together, and your heart shall be in awe, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted to you, the forces of the nationsגּוֹיִם

60:6 The multitude of camels shall cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall bear tidings the praises of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

60:7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you: they shall come up with acceptance on My altar, and I will glorify the house of My glory.

60:8 Who are these that fly like a cloud, and like the doves to their windows?
60:9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish (or Tharshish) first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, to the Name of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

The walls of Salvation


60:10 And the sons of strangers shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you: because in My anger I struck you, but in My favor have I had mercy on you.
60:11 So your gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day or night; that men may bring to you the forces of the nationsגּוֹיִם

60:18 Violence shall no more be heard in your land, wasting or destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls salvationיְשׁוּעָה
