, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had built the wall, and that there was no break left in it; (though at that time I had not installed the door on the gates;)
6:2 That Sanballatסַנְבַּלַּט

and Geshem sent to me, saying, Come, let us meet together in the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do evil to me.
6:3 And I sent messengers to them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I can’t come down: why should the work cease, while I leave it, and come down to you?
6:4 Yet they sent to me four times after this way. And I answered them in the same way.
6:5 Then Sanballatסַנְבַּלַּט

sent his servant to me in same way the fifth time with an open letter in his hand;
6:6 In which was written, It is reported among the nations, and Gashmu (or Geshem) says, [that] you and the Jews are thinking of rebelling: for what reason have you building the wall, so that you may be their king? according to these words.
6:7 And you have also appointed prophets to preach of you at Jerusalem, saying, There is a king in Judah! And now shall it be reported to the king according to these words. So
, come now and let us talk it over together.
6:8 Then I sent to him, saying, The
se things you saying are not happening, but you make them up out of your own heart.
6:9 For they all were fearmongers of us, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, and that it will not be done. Now, strengthen my hands.
6:10 And I came to the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who was shut up. And he said, Let us meet together in the house of Elohimאֱלֹהִים

, inside the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple. For they will come to kill you. Yes, in the night will they come to kill you.
6:11 And I said, Should [such] a man as I flee? And who [being] as I [am], would go into the temple and live? I won’t go in.
6:12 And, look, I understood that Elohimאֱלֹהִים

6:13 So he was hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and become for them that an evil name [with] which they might disgrace me.

The wall is finished

6:15 So the wall was restored in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty second day.
6:16 And when all our enemies heard, and all the nations that were around us saw these things, they were very much lowered in their own eyes: for they saw that this work was done by our El Haiאלהי
