Jonah’s prayer


2:1 Then Jonah prayed to YAHWEH יְהֹוָה‎
Hebrew Yəhōwā, one vocalization of the Tetragrammaton יהוה‎ (YHWH), the proper name of the God of Israel in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. 2:2 And said, I cried out to YAHWEH יְהֹוָה‎

Transliteration: šᵊ’ôl Pronunciation: sheh-ole’ underworld, grave, hell, pit For more info click here I cried out, and You heard my voice.
2:3 Because You threw me [into the] deep, in the heart of the seas; and the current surrounded me: all Your breakers and Your waves passed over me.
2:4 Then I said to myself, I am driven out of Your sight; yet I will gaze again at your holy temple.
2:5 The waters surrounded me, [even] to my soul: the depth whirled  around me, seaweeds were wrapped about my head.
2:6 I went down to the bases of the mountains; the earth its bars [were closed] against me forever: But You have brought up my life from the pit, O YAHWEH יְהֹוָה‎

2:7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered YAHWEH יְהֹוָה‎

2:8 They watch false vanities, they forsake their kindness.
2:9 But I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will fulfill that which I have vowed. Salvation which is YAHWEH יְהֹוָה‎

Jonah delivered from the fish
