49:3 Howl, O Heshbonחֶשְׁבּוֹן

49:17 Also Edomאֱדוֹם
was an ancient kingdom in Transjordan, located between Moab to the northeast, the Arabah to the west, and the Arabian Desert to the south and east. Most of its former territory is now divided between present-day southern Israel and Jordan. Edom appears in written sources relating to the late Bronze Age and to the Iron Age in the Levant also another name for Esau the brother of Jacob and Esua’s descendants shall be a desolation: everyone that goes by it shall be astonished, and shall whistle at all the plagues of it.
49:18 Like in the overthrow of Sodomסְדֹם

49:24 Damascus is weakened, and turns herself to run, and fear has seized her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, like a woman giving birth.
49:25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!
49:26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off on that day, says YAHWEH יְהֹוָה‎
