Manasseh’s long reign

21:1 Manasseh (/məˈnæsə/; Hebrew: מְנַשֶּׁה‎ Mənaššé, “Forgetter”; Greek: Μανασσῆς Manasses; was the fourteenth king of the Kingdom of Judah. He was the oldest of the sons of Hezekiah and his mother Hephzibah (2 Kings 21:1). He became king at the age of 12 and reigned for 55 years. was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty five years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hephzibah or Hepzibah (English: /ˈhɛfzɪbə/ or /ˈhɛpzɪbə/; Hebrew: חֶפְצִי־בָהּ‎, Modern: ḥefṣī-vah, my delight [is] in her) is a minor figure in the Books of Kings in the Bible. She was the wife of Hezekiah, King of Judah (reigned c. 715 and 686 BCE), and the mother of Manasseh of Judah (reigned c. 687–643 BCE)..
21:2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

Manasseh’s idolatry and cruelty

21:3 For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah(/ˌhɛzɪˈkaɪ.ə/; Biblical Hebrew: חִזְקִיָּהוּ‎, romanized: Ḥīzqīyyahū), or Ezekias[c] (born c. 741 BCE, sole ruler c. 716/15–687/86 or 697–642), was the son of Ahaz and the 13th king of Judah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal(/ˈbeɪ.əl, ˈbɑː.əl/), or Baʽal (Hebrew: בַּעַל baʿal) a fertility god whose cult was widespread in ancient Phoenician and Canaanite lands, and made a grove, as did Ahab(Hebrew: אַחְאָב‎, Modern: ʾAḥʾav King of Northern Israel Reign c. 871 – c.852 BC Died 852 BC Know as a wicked king king of Israel; and worshiped all the host of heaven, and served them.

21:5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

21:6 And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

21:7 And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

His two names mean “peaceful” and “friend of God”, both considered “predictive of the character of his reign
his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever:

21:8 Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.
21:9 But they didn’t listen: and Manasseh (/məˈnæsə/; Hebrew: מְנַשֶּׁה‎ Mənaššé, “Forgetter”; Greek: Μανασσῆς Manasses; was the fourteenth king of the Kingdom of Judah. He was the oldest of the sons of Hezekiah and his mother Hephzibah (2 Kings 21:1). He became king at the age of 12 and reigned for 55 years. seduced them to do more evil than did the nations whom YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

21:10 And YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

spoke by his servants the prophets, saying,

21:11 Because Manasseh (/məˈnæsə/; Hebrew: מְנַשֶּׁה‎ Mənaššé, “Forgetter”; Greek: Μανασσῆς Manasses; was the fourteenth king of the Kingdom of Judah. He became king at the age of 12 and reigned for 55 years. king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and has made Judah also to sin with his idols:
21:12 Therefore So says YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that who ever hears of it, both his ears shall tingle.

21:13 And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab(Hebrew: אַחְאָב‎, Modern: ʾAḥʾav King of Northern Israel Reign c. 871 – c.852 BC Died 852 BC Know as a wicked king : and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.
21:14 And I will forsake the remnant of my inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;
21:15 Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even to this day.
21:16 Moreover Manasseh (/məˈnæsə/; Hebrew: מְנַשֶּׁה‎ Mənaššé, “Forgetter”; Greek: Μανασσῆς Manasses; was the fourteenth king of the Kingdom of Judah. He was the oldest of the sons of Hezekiah and his mother Hephzibah (2 Kings 21:1). He became king at the age of 12 and reigned for 55 years. shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

21:17 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh (/məˈnæsə/; Hebrew: מְנַשֶּׁה‎ Mənaššé, “Forgetter”; Greek: Μανασσῆς Manasses; was the fourteenth king of the Kingdom of Judah. He was the oldest of the sons of Hezekiah and his mother Hephzibah (2 Kings 21:1). He became king at the age of 12 and reigned for 55 years., and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
21:18 And Manasseh (/məˈnæsə/; Hebrew: מְנַשֶּׁה‎ Mənaššé, “Forgetter”; Greek: Μανασσῆς Manasses; was the fourteenth king of the Kingdom of Judah. He was the oldest of the sons of Hezekiah and his mother Hephzibah (2 Kings 21:1). He became king at the age of 12 and reigned for 55 years. slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his place.
21:19 Amon was twenty two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
21:20 And he did that which was evil in the sight of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

21:23 And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and killed the king in his own house.

Josiah made king

21:24 And the people of the land killed all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.
21:25 Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
21:26 And he was buried in his sepulcher in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his place.
