Proverbs Chapter 4

Wisdom Starts Here

4:1 Listen children, to a father’s words, pay attention, to gain understanding.
4:2 Because I have given you goodטוֹב

4:3 Because I was my father’s son, soft spot of my mother’s eyes.
4:4 He taught me too, and said to me, let my words sustain your heart: keep my commandmentsמִצְוֺתַי

4:6 Don’t forsake her, and she will keep you: love her, and she will protect you.
4:7 Wisdom starts here go after wisdom: from all you get, get understanding.
4:8 Prize her highly, and she will exalt you, embrace her and she will bring you honor.
4:9 She will place garland of grace on your head: she will set a beautiful crown on you.
4:10 Listen, my son, and take in my words; and they will add  years to your life.
4:11 I have instructed youהֹרֵתִיךָ‎

4:12 When you walk, your steps won’t be hindered; and when you run, you won’t stumble.
4:13 Grab hold of discipline; don’t let it go. Guard it; because it is your life.

4:15 Avoid it, don’t cross over it, veer away from it, and pass on.

4:17 Because they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
4:18 But the path of the righteousצַדִּיקִים‎

4:20 My son, pay attention to what I am saying; tilt your ear to my words.
4:21 Don’t let them out of your sight; guard them inside your heart.
4:22 Because they are life to those that find them, and healing to the whole body.
4:23 Above all else guard your heart; because out of it are the sources of life.
4:24 Get rid of a crooked mouth, and keep twisted talk far from your lips.
4:25 Let your eyes look ahead, fix your gaze on what lies in front of you.
4:26 Weigh the path of your foot, and all your waysדֶּרֶךְ‎
