Proverbs Chapter 4

Solomon shows what instruction he had of parents

4:1 Listen children, to a father’s instruction , pay attention, to gain understanding.
4:2 Because I have given you goodטוֹב

4:3 Because I was my father’s son, tender and favorite in the eyes of my mother.

4:6 Don’t forsake it, and it will guard you: love it, and it will protect you.
4:7 The beginning of wisdom is to acquire wisdom: from your every acquisition your acquire understanding.
4:8 Prize it highly, and it will exalt you: it will honor you, when you embrace it.
4:9 It will set garland of grace on your head: it will bestow a beautiful crown on you.
4:10 Listen, my son, and receive my words; and they will add  years to your life.

4:15 Avoid it, don’t cross over it, veer away from it, and pass on.

4:20 My son, pay attention to what I am saying; incline your ear to my words.
4:21 Don’t let them out of your sight; guard them inside your heart.
4:22 Because they are life to those that find them, and healing to all their flesh.
4:23 Above all else safeguard your heart; because out of it are the sources of life.
4:24 Remove from yourself a distorted mouth, and distance perversity of lips from yourself.
4:25 Let your eyes look ahead, fix your gaze on what lies in front of you.
4:26 Weigh the path of your foot, and all your waysדֶּרֶךְ‎
