Eliphaz reproves Job
4:1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
4:2 Shall one try a word with you, You [who] are weary? but who can hold back from speaking?
4:3 Look, you have instructed many, and you have made weak hands strong.
4:4 Your words have upheld him who was falling, and you have made feeble knees strong.
4:5 But now it has come upon you, and you faint; it touches you, and you are troubled.
4:6 Isn’t this your reverence, your hope, and your hope uprightness of your ways?
The teachings of Eliphaz
4:7 Remember, I beg you, who [ever] perished, being innocent? Or where were the righteous cut off?
4:8 As I have seen, the ones who plow iniquity, and sow misery, reap the same.
4:9 They perish from the blast of Eloahאֱלוֹהַּ
Transliteration:’ĕlôha Pronunciation:el-o’-ah El appears in this form (El transl. God) rarely (shortened) אֱלֹהַּ ʼĕlôahh; probably prolonged (emphatic); a deity or the Deity:—God, god click here , and by the blast of His anger are they consumed.
4:10 The lion roars , and the voice of the lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.
4:11 The old lion perishes for lack of prey, and the lioness’ offspring are scattered.
4:12 Now a word was secretly brought to me, and my ear received a whisper of it.
4:13 In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,
4:14 Fear and trembling, came upon me which made all my bones to shake.
4:15 Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:
4:16 It stood still, but I could not discern its form: an image was before my eyes, [there] was silence, and I heard a sill voice, saying,
4:17 Shall mortal [man] be more just than Eloahאֱלוֹהַּ
Transliteration:’ĕlôha Pronunciation:el-o’-ah El appears in this form (El transl. God) rarely (shortened) אֱלֹהַּ ʼĕlôahh; probably prolonged (emphatic); a deity or the Deity:—God, god click here? shall a man be more pure than his Maker?
4:18 Look, he put no trust in His servants; and he charges His angels with folly!
4:19 How much more those that live in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, they crushed before the moth!
4:20 They are beaten in pieces from morning till evening: they perish forever with no one regarding it.
4:21 Isn’t their pulled in them ? They die, without wisdom.
