Isaiah Chapter 23

The overthrow of Tyre


23:1 The prophecy of Tyre (or Tyrus). Wail, y’all ships of Tarshish (or Tharshish); because your fortress is destroyed, so that there is no house, no entrance: from the land of Chittim (or Kittim) they found out.
23:2 Be quite, y’all inhabitants of the island; you whom the merchants of Zidon (or Sidon meaning hunting), that cross over the sea, have refilled.
23:3 And by great waters the offspring of Sihor (or Shihor), the harvest of the Nile, is her revenue; and she is a market of nationsגּוֹיִם
Hebrew Noun: Common Masculine Plural Absolute (in the sense of massing); a foreign nation; hence, a Gentile; also (figuratively) a troop of animals, or a flight of locusts:—the Gentiles, the heathen, the nations, the people. For more info click here

23:4 You be ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea has spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I haven’t been in labor, or given birth, or do I bring up young men, or young women.
23:5 As at the report concerning Egyptמִצְרַיִם
Transliteration:miṣrayim – Pronunciation: mits-rah’-yim adjective, proper locative noun – Egypt = “land of the Copts (a member of a people descended from the ancient Egyptians)” . For more info click here
, so shall they be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.
23:6 Y’all cross over to Tarshish; wail, y’all inhabitants of the isle.
23:7 Is this your joyous [city], whose origin was in ancient times? Her own feet shall carry her from afar off to remain.
23:8 Who has planned this against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are rulers, whose traders are the honored of the earth?
23:9 YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

has planned it, to profane the pride of all glory, [and] to bring to curse all the honorable of the earth.
23:10 Overflow your land like the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish (meaning yellow jasper): [there is] no longer anything restraining you.
23:11 He stretched out his hand above the sea, he made the kingdoms tremble: YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

  has given a commandment against the merchant [city], to destroy its fortresses.
23:12 And he said, you shall no longer rejoice, O you violated young woman, daughter of Zidon: get up, cross over to Chittim (meaning bruisers); event there you  shall have no rest.
23:13 Look this is the land of the Chaldeans; for this people never used to be [here], the Assyrian founded it for its fleets, they built its towers; [now] they destroyed its palaces, it has been made a ruin.
23:14 Wail, y’all ships of Tarshish: for your strength is destroyed.
23:15 And it shall so happen on that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, the lifetime of a unique king: at the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing like a prostitute.
23:16 Take an harp, go around the city, you forgotten prostitute ; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that you may be remembered.

23:17 And it shall so happen after the end of seventy years, that YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

will remember Tyre, and she will return to her trade, and shall resume her prostitution with all the kingdoms of the land on the face of the earth.
23:18 And her merchandise and her wages shall be dedicated to YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

: [and] will not be stored or hoarded; because her merchandise shall be for those that live in the presence of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה
