Philistines return the ark

6:1 AND the ark of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

6:2 And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do to the ark of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

of Israel, don’t send it empty; but you should send him a trespass offering. Then ya’ll shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why His hand is not turned away from you.

6:4 Then said they, What should the trespass offering be which we shall send back to him? They answered, Five golden emerods is an archaic term for hemorrhoids. Derived from the Old French word emoroyde, it was used as the common English term until the nineteenth century, after which it was replaced in medicine by a direct transliteration of the original Greek term haimorrhoides, and five golden mice, according to the number of rulers of the Philistines. For one plague has been on ya’ll, and on your rulers.
6:5 And ya’ll shall make images of your emerods is an archaic term for hemorrhoids. Derived from the Old French word emoroyde, it was used as the common English term until the nineteenth century, after which it was replaced in medicine by a direct transliteration of the original Greek term haimorrhoides, and images of your mice that are corrupting the land; and ya’ll shall give glory to the Elohimאֱלֹהִים

6:6 Why do ya’ll harden your hearts, like the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? When he had gathered with them, didn’t they let the people go, and they went?
6:7 So now make a new cart, and take two suckling cows, on which a yoke has never gone up, and tie the cows to the cart, and cause their calves to return home from them:
6:8 And take the ark of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

, and lay it on the cart; and put the vessels of gold, which ya’ll return to Him for a trespass offering. Put them in a strongbox inside of it; and send it away, and let it go.

6:9 And watch, if it goes up by the way of his own border to Beit-Shemeshבֵּית שֶׁמֶשׁ

6:10 ¶ And the men did so; and took two suckling cows, and tied them to the cart, and shut up their calves in the house:
6:11 And they laid the ark of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley: and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it.

6:14 And the cart came to the field of Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁעַ

6:16 And when the five rulers of the Philistines saw it, they returned to Ekron on that day.
