1st Samuel Chapter 10

Samuel anoints Saul

10:1 THEN Samuel שְׁמוּאֵל

10:2 When you are departed from me today, then you shall find two men by Rachelרָחֵל

10:4 And they will salute you, and give you two loaves of bread; which you shall receive of their hands.
10:5 After that you shall come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall so happen, when you have come there to the city, that you shall meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy:
10:6 And the Spirit of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

will come on you, and you shall prophesy with them, and shall be turned into another man.

10:7 And let it be, when these signs are come to you, that you do as occasion serve you; for God is with you.
10:8 And you shall go down before me to Gilgal; and, look, I will come down to you, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: seven days shall you stay, till I come to you, and show you what you shall do.
10:9 ¶ And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel שְׁמוּאֵל

10:10 And when they came there to the hill, look, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came on him, and he prophesied among them.
10:11 And it so happen, when all that knew him in the past saw that, look, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come to the son of Kish? Is Saulשָׁאוּל

God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, and of them that oppressed you:

10:19 And y’all have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and y’all have said to him, No, but set a king over us. So Now present yourselves before YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

10:20 And when Samuel שְׁמוּאֵל

10:21 When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saulשָׁאוּל

10:23 And they ran and fetched him thence: and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.

10:27 But the sons of Belialבְּלִיַּעַל‎
Bəlīyyaʿal is a term occurring in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament which later became personified as the devil in Christian texts of the New Testament. Alternate spellings include Baalial, Balial, Belhor, Beliall, Beliar, Berial, Bylyl and Beliya’al. A Hebrew word “used to characterize the wicked or worthless”.
said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.
