44:11 See, involved will be ashamed: and the artisans, they are but human! Let them all gather together and stand; let them fear, and be ashamed together.
44:12 The blacksmith [makes] an axe and works in the coals, and shapes it with hammers. He works on it with his strong arms: though he is hungry and his strength fails: he drinks no water, and grows faint.
44:13 The carpenter stretches out a line; he marks [the wood] with a stylus; he works on it with planes, and he marks it out with the compass, and carves it into the shape of a man, with human beauty; so that it can stay in the house.
44:14 He cuts down cedars, and takes the cypress and the oak, and lets it grow strong among the trees of the forest: he plants a fir tree for the rain to nourish.
44:15 It will be for fuel : he will take some of it and warm himself, or burns it and bakes bread. Yet he also makes a god אֵל
