Wickedness goes unpunished
24:1 Why, since times are not hidden from Shaddaiשַׁדַּי
romanized: Šaddāy; or Shaddai is one of the names of the God of Israel. 24:2 Some move the landmarks; they seize flocks, and graze it.
24:3 They drive away the ass of the orphans, they take the widow‘s ox for collateral.
24:4 They turn aside the needy from the road: together the poor of the land are forced into hiding.
24:5 Look, [like] wild asses in the desert, they go out in their work; getting up early in the morning searching for prey: the wilderness yields food for them and for their young.
24:6 They reap each one his fodder in the field: and they glean the vineyard of the wicked.
24:7 They make the naked to pass the night without clothing, that they give no clothing from the cold.
24:8 They are wet from the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for lack of a shelter.
24:9 They tear away the orphan from the breast, and take a collateral from the poor.
24:10 They make [them] to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry;
24:11 Which press out oil between their walls, and tread their wine presses, but are thirsty.
24:12 Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded cries for help: yet Eloahאֱלוֹהַּ

Secret punishment for the wicked
24:13 They are among rebels against the light; they don’t recognize His ways, nor stay in the His paths.
24:14 The murderer rising with the light kills the poor and needy, and is a thief in the night.
24:15 The adulterer’s eye waits for the twilight, saying, No eye will see me: and disguises his face.
24:16 In the dark he digs through houses, they shut themselves up in the daytime: they don’t know the light.
24:17 For both [are] morning [and] the shadow of death to them: because he knows the terrors of death’s shadow.
24:18 He [is] swift on the waters; their part is vile in the earth: he doesn’t face the road of the vineyards.
24:19 As drought and heat consume the snow waters: so does Sheolשְׁאוֹל

24:20 The womb will forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be remembered no more ; and wickedness shall be broken like a tree.
24:21 He oppresses the barren [woman] that bears not: and does no good to the widow.
24:22 He also draws the powerful with his strength: He rises up, and no one is sure of life.
24:23 He gives safety to him , he rest on it ; yet His eyes are on their ways.
24:24 They are honored for a little while, but are not and are brought low; they are gathered in like all [others], and cut off as the tops of the heads of grain.
24:25 And if not, who will prove me a liar, and make my speech worth nothing ?
