Sara deals harshly with Hagar

16:1 NOW Sarai Abram Avram which means “High Father” – “av” (אב) “father”, “ram” (רם) “high” Later called Abraham For more info click here‘s wife bare him no children and she had an female slave, an Egyptian, whose name [was] Hagar (or Agar).

An angel speaks to Hagar


16:8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s slave-girl, from where did you come? and where are you going? And she said, I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.
