Deuteronomy Chapter 17

Several injunctions

17:1 You will not sacrifice to YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

17:2 When there is found among you, in one of your gates which YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

, in transgressing His covenant,
17:3 And has gone and served other gods, and worshiped them, or the sun, or moon, or any of the host of the heavens, which I have not commanded ;
17:4 And it has been revealed to ya’ll , and ya’ll have heard [of it], and searched carefully, and, observed, [it is] true, [and] the thing confirmed, [that] this hateful thing has been done in Israel
17:5 Then will you bring out to your gates that man or that woman, who has that evil thing, the man or the woman, and will stone them with stones, till they die.
17:6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is to be put to death. H
e shall not be put to death at the mouth of one witness .
17:7 The hands of the witnesses shall be the first on him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So you will put the evil away from among you.
17:8 If  a matter too hard for ya’ll in judgment, between blood and blood, between cause and cause, and between stroke and stroke, matters of strife within your gates then will you get up, and go to the place which YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

shall choose ;
17:9 And you will come to the priests of the Levites, and to the judge who is in those days, and inquire ; and they shall declare the sentence of judgment to ya’ll.
17:10 And you will do according to the word, which they declare to ya’ll from that place which YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

shall choose shall show ya’ll ; and you will observe to do according to all that they direct ya’ll.
17:11 Ya’ll shall do according to the sentence of the Torahתּוֹרָה‎

which they shall teach ya’ll , and according to the judgment which they shall tell ya’ll , you will do you will not decline from the word which they shall declare ya’ll , [to] the right hand, or [to] the left.
17:12 And the man who acts with pride as not listen to the priest that is standing to serve YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

17:13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and shall not presume any more.

17:14 When you have come to the land which YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

gives ya’ll , and will possess it, and settle in it, and ya’ll will say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that [are] around me;
17:15 You will certainly set [him] king over ya’ll. whom YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

shall choose [one] from among your brothers will you set king over ya’ll you may not set a stranger over ya’ll , who [is] not your brother.

17:16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, or cause the people to return to Egypt, as to

17:17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that
turn his heart aside and he  shall not greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
17:18 And it shall be, when he sits upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write himself a copy of this Torahתּוֹרָה‎

in a book out of [that which is] before the priests the Levites
17:19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life that he may learn to fear YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

17:20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brothers, and that he may not turn not aside from the commandment, [to] the right hand, or [to] the left so that he may prolong [his] over his kingdom, he, and his sons, in the midst of Israel.
