Speech of Moses continued

3:1 Then we turned, and went up the on road to Bashan and Ogחֲנֻכָּא

the king of Bashan (meaning fruitful) came out against us, he and all his people, to war [at] Edrei.
3:2 And YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

said to me, Don’t fear him because I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into your hand ; and you will do to him like you have done to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.
3:3 So YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

also, the king of Bashan, and all his people and we struck him until not one survivor [was] left to him.
3:4 And we captured all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we didn’t take from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Ogחֲנֻכָּא

3:5 All these cities [were] fortified with high walls, doors, and bars ; beside
a great many unwalled towns .
3:6 And we completely destroyed them, like we did to Sihon (meaning warrior) king of Heshbon, completely destroying
every city ,the men, women, and children.
3:7 But all the cattle, and the plunder of the cities, we took as a plunder for ourselves.
3:8 At that time we took out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land that were on the other side of the Jordan, from Arnon Brook to Mount Hermon ;
3:9 (
the Sidonians  would refer to Hermon as Sirion ; and the Amorites called it Shenir; )
3:10 All the cities of the plain, and all Gileadגִּלְעָד
or Gilad (/ˈɡɪliəd/; Gilʿāḏ) is the ancient, historic, biblical name of the mountainous northern part of the region of Transjordan. The region is bounded in the west by the Jordan River, in the north by the deep ravine of the river Yarmouk and the region of Bashan, and in the southwest by what were known during antiquity as the “plains of Moab”, with no definite boundary to the east.
, and all Bashan, to Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Ogחֲנֻכָּא

3:14 Jair the son of Manassehמְנַשֶּׁה

took all the country of Argob to the border of Geshuri and Maachathi ; and called them after his own name, Bashanhavothjair, to today.
3:15 And I gave Gileadגִּלְעָד

3:17 The Arabah, and the Jordan, and its border, from Chinnereth even to the  Arabah Sea, [even] the Salt Sea, below Ashdothpisgah eastward.
3:18 And I commanded you at that time, saying, YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

3:19 But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, ([for] I know that y’all have much cattle,) shall live in your cities which I have given you;
