Exodus Chapter 14

Instructions to the Israelites

14:1 AND YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

14:2 Speak to the sons of Israel, let they return and camp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baalzephon.  Y
ou shall  camp opposite [it] by the sea.
14:3 For Pharaoh will say as to sons of Israel, They [are] entangled in the land, the wilderness has shut them in.
14:4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall pursue you. And I will be honored through Pharaoh, and though all his armies. And the Egyptians shall know that I [am] YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

14:5 And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned as to the people, and they said, What is this we
have done? For we have sent away Israel from serving us?
14:6 And he made ready his chariots, and took his people with him
14:7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and officers over all of them.
14:8 And YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the sons of Israel and the sons of Israel were going out with a high hand.
14:9 But the Egyptians pursued them. A
nd overtook them camping by the sea, all the horses [and] chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army,  beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.
14:10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the sons of Israel raised their eyes, and, see, the Egyptians were marching after them! And they were very afraid. And the sons of Israel cried to YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

14:11 And they said to Mosesמשה

, Because [there were] no graves in Egypt, that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness ? What is this you have done to us, to bring us out of Egypt ?
14:12 Isn’t
this the word that we did tell ya’ll in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, let us  serve the Egyptians ? Because [it is] better for us to serve the Egyptians, than to die in the wilderness.
14:13 And Mosesמשה

said to the people, Don’t be afraid. Take your  stand, and see the salvation of YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

, which He will prepare for you today. For as you see the Egyptians today, you won’t see them ever again forever.
14:14 YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

will fight for you, and you will be silent.
14:15 And YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

, Why do you cry to Me? Speak to the sons of Israel, that they move forward
14:16 But
you raise your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it so that sons of Israel may go on dry [ground] through the midst of the sea.
14:17 And I, see, I [am] about to harden the heart of the Egyptians. And they will follow them. And I will get me honored through
Pharaoh and through his armies, and through his chariots, and through his horsemen.
14:18 And the Egyptians shall know that I [am] YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

14:19 And the Angelמַלְאָךְ

, withdrew, the One going before the camp of Israel. And He went behind them. And the pillar of the cloud withdrew from before them, and stood behind them.
14:20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. And it was cloudy and dark, it gave light to the night; and this one didn’t come near to the other one all night.

stretched out his hand over the sea and YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night. And made the sea dry land, and the waters divided.
14:22 And the sons of Israel the waters went to the middle of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters [being]
a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.
14:23 And the Egyptians pursued, and came in after them
the all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots and his horsemen into the middle of the sea.
14:24 And it so happened, that in the morning watch YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

looked on the camp of the Egyptians in the pillar of fire and cloud, And He confused the camp of the Egyptians,
14:25 And He took off the chariot wheels, made them hard to drive so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel ;  for YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

14:26 And YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its usual flow, at the turning of the morning, and the Egyptians were fleeing to meet it. And YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

shook off the Egyptians to the middle of the sea.

14:28 And the waters returned and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, together with all the army of Pharaoh those going after them into the sea. And not a one was left among them.
14:29 But the sons of Israel walked on dry ground in the middle of the sea ; and the waters [were] a wall for them on their right hand, and on their left.
14:30 And YAHWEH יְהֹוָה

saved Israel that day out of the hand of  the Egyptians ; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the sea shore.

14:31 Israel saw that great hand which YAHWEH יְהֹוָה
